This unique immersive production was created as the official Czech exposition of the Prague Quadrennial 2019. It had two parts: a small pavilion at the Prague Exhibition Grounds and an outdoor immersive installation at Prague’s Štvanice, where it worked as an installation during the day and at night it became a live show lasting six hours with more then sixty performers for few hundreds specatators. In September, this production was transferred to Náplavka in České Budějovice, where it was repeated several times.
The project was co-produced by two independent Prague theaters – LETÍ and TYGR V TÍSNÍ and two ensembles of the South Bohemian Theater. In the context of Czech Republic it was thus a completely unique co-production between the municipal theater and independent theatres. The script for the project was written by two Czech and two Catalan authors within the international Fabulamundi network.
Camp Q is one of many camps where refugees from other planets have found themselves an exile: the mysterious Phoenix women, the surviving civilizations of the technically advanced Zeyris, and the animal-like Attas, who continue to worship their queen even on planet Earth. But how can we integrate mysterious hedgehogs that look like inanimate design objects? Do they have a right to a place among us? Is their integration within our capabilities? The viewer had the opportunity to look for answers to these questions during more than a six-hour visit to a unique adaptation camp…
