Antonie Rašilovová

Actress, director and playwright. As an author, she has had several of her plays performed in the Czech Republic and abroad. She proactively educates herself in the field of playwriting not only as part of her studies, but also through domestic and foreign internships. She attended an international workshop in Chile, where she co-created a dramatic text in conjunction with other authors. In 2023, she became the winner of the competition for the best short play, which is traditionally announced by DAMU in cooperation with the VACLAV HAVEL LIBRARY FOUNDATION New York, The Tisch School of Arts in New York and the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in NY. In 2023, she also became one of the authors of the residency program as part of the international project Fabulamundi – Playwrighting Europe. At the end of 2024, she performed her play Zadním vchodem na Hrad in her own direction at the DISK Theater, and Czech Radio performed her series of stories for children VAŘ VAŘ VAŘ inspired by cooking shows as part of the reading series. In the context of Czech drama, her plays stand out for their pop culture allusions, reflections on the post-fact era, and vocabulary that resonates with a younger generation of viewers. In addition, her plays subversively address power relations not only on a social level, but also on a purely intimate level.
